"Be Hard Headed!"

The American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) has developed two new Public Service Announcements (PSA) to further educate the public about the importance of wearing a helmet when bike riding, skiing, rollerblading and participating in other outdoor activities, to avoid spinal cord, head and neck injuries. In 2001 alone, 580,000 people received emergency room treatment for a bicycle injury. Children under 15 years old sustain the highest injury and death rates among bicycle riders. The two PSA's were distributed to consumer publications nationwide including: People, Parenting, Good Housekeeping, Sports Illustrated, Time, Men's Health, and Redbook, to name a few.
